POLICE have moved to reassure people that they were on a training exercise in Tadley after armed police were spotted near a bar.
Members of the public saw the incident, which involved several armed police officers in The Parade on Wednesday, June 29, and posted their alarm on social media.
However a spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary has now issued a statement.

They said: "Just to reassure you and the community, there was no incident in the area.
"There had just been some training going on in the area, it was only a very brief scenario and was done with no live ammunition and with safety officers in the area to reassure people."
Officers were spotted near to Cafe Retreat in Mulfords Hill around 7.30pm.
