CHILDREN at an infant school in Basingstoke were delighted this week to see the final unveiling of a mosaic.
In May the children at Old Basing Infant School began working with Mosaic Artist, Paul Siggins, to come up with a collaborative piece of art to welcome visitors to the school.
The children decided on a nature theme and each class drew pictures to represent the class names.

Caroline Tuck, art lead, who coordinated the project, said: "it's been a fantastic experience for the children to work with a real life artist and for them to be so proud of what they've achieved is brilliant to see." Tracey McCarley, Headteacher, said "we are delighted with the mosaic which now provides a colourful welcome to our school. It is wonderful to give children the opportunity to work with real artists creating a permanent installation which will be part of the school for many years to come."

The pictures were put together into a design and Paul came into school for workshops with each class.
