RAIL services have been disrupted after a lorry has collided with a bridge, forcing trains to travel at a reduced speed.
The lorry has become stuck under the railway bridge at Fuller's Lane, in Reading, on Monday, July 4, causing delays to train services between Reading and Basingstoke.
There are current delays of 15 minutes as trains travel a maximum of 5mph over the bridge.
Great Western Railway (GWR) has said that disruptions are expected until 8pm, which could be when the lorry is expected to be free.
The train operator said: "Due to a lorry colliding with a bridge between Reading and Basingstoke trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.
“Impact: Train services running through these stations may be delayed by up to 15 minutes. Disruption is expected until 20:00 04/07.
“Customer Advice: A lorry has become wedged under a railway bridge between Reading West & Mortimer stations. Until the lorry is safely removed from under the bridge, trains can only run at 5mph. This may cause a slight delay to your journey. We are sorry if this affects your travel plans today.”
