A COMMUNITY centre has held its first annual fundraising event since the beginning of the Covid pandemic.
Sherfest 2022 was held on Saturday, July 9 at Sherfield Park Community Centre.
This was the first time that the festival had been held in two years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Despite this, the festival was an enormous success, managing to attract more than 2,000 attendees.
The festival had a carnival theme and featured a range of activities for attendees to enjoy, including live music, local food vendors, a grand raffle, a bungie trampoline and various children’s activities.
Centre manager Sarah Bicknell said that the “day was amazing”, adding: “We were really, really pleased with how it all went.”
Another centre manager, Louise Grainger, wanted to thank the local businesses that had sponsored the event, as well as Sherfield Park Parish Council who gave a generous grant to the community centre.
Louise said: “We couldn’t have done it without them.”
