A BASINGSTOKE community group has raised more than £1,000 with its annual fundraising event.
The Basingstoke African Caribbean Catholic Association (BACCA) held its annual summer fete fundraising event at St Bede’s School field in Popley on Saturday, July 9.
The fundraiser raised more than £1,000 and attracted large numbers of attendees with both families and community group members coming along to show their support.
Activities at the fundraiser included a sack race, musical chairs, an egg and spoon race, face painting, and a bouncy castle, amongst others.

Music and food were also key parts of the fete, with BACCA hosting a barbeque during the fun day.
Nduka Ekechuckwu, chairman of BACCA, said: “Our annual summer fete has evolved over the years to become one of the significant summer events in Basingstoke, and a unifying non-partisan gathering of communities, drawing people from all backgrounds to socialise and build sustainable friendships.

“The weather has been great, and I am so pleased to see people of all ethnicities enjoying themselves while working together to help restore our historic Holy Ghost Parish.”
The Basingstoke African Caribbean Catholic Association is a community of African and Caribbean Roman-Catholics who are united by their faith and ethnicity.
