AN ARMY officer who has served in the British Army for 10 years has raised thousands for veterans after being determined to give something back to a “wonderful career”.
Jennifer Price, who has spent most of her life living in Hook, is currently fundraising for the Veterans’ Foundation by attempting to complete 12 challenges in a year.
The 32-year-old, who describes herself as a “fitness enthusiast”, is a commissioned officer in the British Army.
She said she “loves going on an adventure” and thought this was a great way to help veterans in need before she hangs up her army boots for good.

She said: "My time coaching soldiers has made me passionate about leading and developing others to try new experiences and achieve higher levels of performance. This, combined with my love of living healthily, is what sparked the idea for this challenge.
"I am also a huge advocate of supporting veterans and mental health awareness. It is rare to go through life without experiencing personal trauma of some sort, whether that has been on the battlefield or in your personal life. I am a firm believer that trauma should not define you but can be harnessed to motivate you in endlessly positive ways, and it is never too late to get back on track."
Jennifer has already completed challenges including the Devizes to Westminster international canoe race and a Land's End to John O’Groats cycle.
She said: “I have just completed number six of 12 challenges, Kilimanjaro. The summit hike was one of the hardest things I have ever done due to the effect of altitude on my body."

When Jennifer left school she was unsure what she wanted to do but then she joined the Army Cadet Force at university and fell in love with the idea of being in the military.
The Veterans’ Foundation works with hundreds of smaller, less well-known, charities and charitable organisations across the UK.
To date, Jennifer has raised £27,000, but hopes to reach £100,000.
Her last challenge will take place on Christmas Day and will see her take on Summit Cerro, a mountain peak in Colorado.
