As students celebrate the end of an era in style at their prom we've taken a delve into our archives to look back at some pictures of proms from 17 years ago.

Stretch limousines, a horse and trap, and a Ferrari were among the modes of transport favoured by the pupils from Brighton Hill, as they turned up for the ball at Oakley Hall.
Awards were also handed out to the winners of accolades including best smile and best couple.
Claire Newell, a Brighton Hill school teacher who helped to organise the event, told the Gazette then: “It was fantastic. Everybody had a really good time and it was a real success.”
