A BEAUTY salon in Basingstoke is celebrating a decade of business, as well as surviving nine months shutdown during the Covid pandemic.
Emma Silcox, who owns the Beauty Spot in Cliddesden Road, threw a party for staff and loyal customers to mark the tenth anniversary since she founded the business.
Emma, who lives in Hatch Warren with her husband and two daughters, said: “It’s been a rollercoaster of a decade.
“Not least with the pandemic.
“We couldn’t see customers for nine months and I was very worried the business might not survive. But now we’re busier than ever.”

Emma hosted celebrations with her staff and 30 regular customers, who were treated to a glass of fizz and cupcakes.
They also had a short skin consultation using a “skin scanner” to check for blemishes, and a mini facial.
The guests were also given the opportunity to watch demonstrations of several new skincare treatments.
Emma took over the salon in 2012, and has since significantly increased the customer base and expanded the staff team from one person to five.
The Beauty Spot offers specialist non-invasive therapies for skin, such as ultrasound facelifts and radio frequency needling for aging and other skin concerns, as well as traditional beauty treatments such as massage, manicures, waxing and eyebrow microblading.
Emma said: “One of the things I love most about the beauty industry is the fact it’s always changing.
“It’s moved on so much in the last ten years, particularly when it comes to skincare. I’m excited to see what the next decade will bring.”

Since re-opening after the pandemic, The Beauty Spot has offered High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) non-surgical facelifts, and radiofrequency microneedling, which delivers a highly effective, safe and proven method of non-surgical skin tightening and anti-aging.
These are in addition to existing skin treatments, such as light therapy, which can help people with scars, eczema, skin pigmentation and red veins.
The Beauty Spot is opening a third treatment room to coincide with its anniversary.
The new room is large enough for couples’ massages, or friends who would like treatments together, such as pedicures.
