A GROUP of car enthusiasts in and around Basingstoke held a car meet on Saturday evening in an effort to show how to organise a car gathering that spreads good vibes and positive energy.
The group led by Elliot Ward and Scott Martin of Flat Out Media YouTube channel organised the meeting via Instagram and YouTube and then at The Beach Arms Stonehouse pub in Oakley.
The organisers said they wanted to promote well-catered and well-organised static car gatherings due to the negativity surrounding anti-social car meets in Basingstoke.
There have been numerous anti-social car meets held this year across Hampshire, which have left residents upset, seen police called and prompted car parks to install CCTV.

The meet - named Pimms Pints and Pizza - saw 30 cars including two Lamborghini Aventadors, a Lamborghini Huracan, Nissan Skyline GT-R, BMW M2s, M3s and an M4, a Supercharged Mustang, and Porsches come down to get involved.
Scott said: “We contacted Pauline, the branch manager of the pub and made a reservation for the car meet. They put up a buffet of pizzas, chicken wings, wedges and nachos.
“Everything was organised in the way you'd expect. There was no antisocial behaviour and no one was complaining. The public were getting involved and there was a positive vibe all around.”
“The locals who attended the pub on a day-to-day basis also got involved, they were enjoying themselves as well, even though they weren't part of the event. They were made to feel involved which, which was good.

“It was good to show a positive outlook on the car community and show that we love cars and odn’t want to be targeted as a pain or a nuisance when we plan a static meet. Good food, good cars, good atmosphere and positive vibes were the only thing on the agenda from our event.”
After the success of this gathering, they are now planning to organise more such car meets.
