DRIVERS in and around Basingstoke and Deane will have nine National Highways road closures to watch out for.
But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• A34, from 8pm July 29 to 6am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Tothill to Highclere, lane closures for barrier works.
• M3, from 9pm January 18 2021 to 6am August 4, 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, junction 9, slip road and lane closures for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via National Highways network.
• M3, from 9pm December 9 2020 to 6am August 18, 2022, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound and southbound, junction 10, slip road closures for M3 Smart Motorways, diversion via local authority and National Highways network.
• A27, from 8pm March 7 to 6am October 1, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34, A308M, A404, A303, A31, A3M, A3, A27, M4, M27, M271 and M3 whole lengths, mobile lane closures for maintenance works.
And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:
• A34, from 8pm August 2 to 6am August 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Highclere to Speen, lane closures for barrier works.
• M3, from 8pm August 3 to 6am August 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 southbound, junction 8, Lane closures for electrical work.
• A34, from 9.30am August 11 to 3.30pm August 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Tot Hill services to Highclere Common, diversion only for West Berkshire County Council works.
• A303, from 8pm August 11 to 6am August 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A303 westbound, M3 to Popham services, Lane closure for BT Openreach works.
• M3, from 8pm August 15 to 6am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M3 northbound, lane closure on, junction 7 exit slip road, Lane closure for local authority sign works off network.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
