DRIVERS are being advised to leave extra time for journeys this weekend due to a major road closure.
A section of the northbound M3 will be fully closed from 9pm on Friday, August 5 until 6pm on Monday, August 8.
The closure is taking place to allow emergency work to be carried out between junction 4 (Frimley) and junction 3 (Lightwater).
To allow for the closure at junction 4 the northbound M3 will also be closed overnight between junction 5 (Hook) and junction 3 from 9pm on Friday to 6am on Saturday, August 6.

There will also be a closure at the same times on Sunday, August 7 to remove the traffic management.
A signed diversion will be in place via the A30 London Road.
Drivers are asked to either avoid this area or look to use alternative routes if possible.
However, motorists will still be able to exit the M3 at junction 4 from both directions, join the M3 at junction 4 and travel southbound, and join the M3 at junction 3 and travel in both directions.
