PROPOSALS that would see warehouses built on countryside near Junction 5 of the M3 motorway have sparked objections from parish councils.
As previously reported Obsidian Strategic is currently planning to seek planning permission for 105,000m2 of commercial logistics floorspace across five warehouses.
Although a planning application is yet to be submitted, documents relating to an early pre-application meeting are available.
They have so far attracted 346 public comments with only two supporters and more than 300 objections.

The plans would see the warehouses built on Lodge Farm located between Odiham and Hook.
The proposals would also ask for space for 200 EV charging points.
Among those are several parish councils who have commented to share their views about the proposals.
South Warnbrough Parish Council commented: "Traffic and speeding through South Warnborough has already increased in recent years due to the number of new houses being built locally. This has already resulted in a life-changing accident, growing apprehension from villagers around journeys to and from the school bus, plus concerns about elderly access to village amenities.”
They went on to say the council is “very worried about this proposal” and its “ability to adversely affect the safety, health and day-to-day lives of South Warnborough residents".
Heckfield Parish Council near Hook also objected to plans.
A spokesperson commented: “Heckfield Parish Council strongly agrees with the comments made by Hook Parish Council, in particular that: 'The transport assessment should include detailed analysis of predicted vehicle types and assignment of routes and destinations in order that the impact on the local highways infrastructure can be properly and accurately considered'."
It continued: “Separately we note the application for a greenfield site to be built upon in a recognised climate crisis and request substantial additional tree planting and the installation of PV panels on all South, East and West facing roofing.
“Also to consider the need for safe cycling and footpaths connecting communities affected by the development, traffic calming measures to support this, and the reduction in speed for any B class roads suffering increased traffic.”
Despite objections, Obsidian Strategic said it would make a “significant” improvement to the A287 “by enabling access and the free flow of traffic, as well as improved footways, pedestrian crossings, and cycle and pedestrian routes between Odiham and Hook”.
