A BASINGSTOKE man got a double podium in front of his family and friends in the British F1 Sidecar Championship at his local track in Thruxton.
Oscar Lawrence from Kingsclere and passenger George Holden finished third in their first race and came second in their second race to complete double podium.
Both are only in their fourth season of racing, but they are currently ranked fourth in the British Championship.
Twenty-year-old Oscar is the son of Rick Lawrence, a former sidecar racer and Eurocup winner.

Oscar, who got into sidecar racing three years ago by following his dad’s footsteps, said it was exciting to race in front of his relatives.
He continued: “It was really special. Winning in front of all my family and everyone I knew was actually very nice.”
The Thruxton track is incredibly demanding for passengers, with G Forces out the back of the circuit through Village and Church bends.
The sidecar championship has an average speed of 140mph, which is not a thing for the faint hearted.
