A NEW heat pump showroom has opened in Basingstoke to help people across the south of England make the transition to sustainable heating options.
The Daikin Sustainable Home Centre has opened at the Enterprise Centre on West Ham Lane.
The showroom has been launched by UKHeatPumps, one of the leading specialists in renewable energy systems in the region, in association with heat pump manufacturer Daikin.
The centre opened with a launch event on Friday, August 19 and was open to anyone with an interest in heat pumps, including homeowners, plumbers and heating installers.
Attendees on the day were invited to look round the new centre, meet experts from UKHeatPumps and Daikin and view the latest heat pump technology.
Deputy Mayor of Basingstoke Cllr David Leeks was also in attendance and discussed plans for future renewable projects in the area.
There was also a raffle draw, with one lucky winner receiving a £500 voucher of their choosing.
Ahead of the launch, Kyle Bray, director of UKHeatPumps, said: “Opening our new sustainable home centre is a fantastic milestone for our business and the local community.
“We hope to see lots of friendly faces on the big day, and we’re thrilled to have the deputy mayor join us on our journey to help the homes of Basingstoke become more sustainable.
“Our goal at UKHeatPumps is to work towards a greener future for all using our expertise to advise on all types of renewable projects.”
Following the launch event, the centre will become a place for homeowners to familiarise themselves with air source heat pump technology before they are partnered trusted local installer.
The centre will also house a heat pump training centre to help the region’s plumbing and heating installers to diversify into renewable heating solutions and ensure the long-term competitiveness of their businesses, as fossil fuels boilers are slowly phased out.
Iain Bevan, commercial manger – heating and renewables at Daikin UK, said: “It’s important that homeowners who want to go green can easily access expert advice and guidance, helping them find the best solution for their household’s heating and hot water needs.
“Being able to explore and discuss heat pump technology in person is vital, as is knowing that it will be installed by a highly-trained professional – and that’s what our sustainable home centres are all about.”
