However, families have been left confused by a piece of metal equipment installed on a concrete surface and what it should be used for.
Finally, the borough council has resolved the mystery, explaining on social media that the equipment is a ‘teen lean bench’ designed for teenagers to lean on while they socialise.
Whilst the explanation has resolved the mystery, some were still confused as to why a leaning bench for teenagers has been installed in a park designed for younger children.

One parent said the equipment was instead being used as a climbing frame and labelled it “odd” adding: “It’s in a play park designed for young children. There is nothing else there for teenagers.”
The play park was refurbished following a public consultation and was funded from the local infrastructure fund.
Located next to the splash pad, it is described as being ‘natural, colourful and inclusive’.
It also includes a climbing wall, speed slide, climbing and sheltering hut, toddler multi-play unit, group swings, chalk drawing zone and long jump game.
