HOOK athlete Ben Pattison, who won a Commonwealth Games bronze medal this month, finished sixth at the European Athletics Championships in Munich last Sunday.
In a fantastic atmosphere in the final night of athletics at the Olympic Stadium, Pattison put in a splendid performance in 800m final, but his hopes of adding a medal to his collection ended with a sixth place.

As the runners entered the home straight, the Basingstoke and Mid Hants athlete was still in with a chance. But as everyone was operating on full tilt, Pattison just missed out – finishing in a time of 1:45.63 having gone through the Bell 52.20s.
By far the youngest runner in the race, Pattison saw the very experienced Spaniard Garcia Mariano win, with Jake Wightman second and Irishmen Mark English third.
The winning time was 1:44.85.
It has been a very intense period for Ben, having run under 1:48 nine times during June, July and August, including a PB of 1:44.60.
