THE Spotlight UK team and volunteers spent two days outside Morrisons last week in Basingstoke to promote a food hub.
The Gazette spotted the volunteers outside ths supermaket and have since been told they recieved a whopping six trolleys worth of donations.
A spokesperson for Spotlight UK said: "Spotlight UK team and volunteers spent two days outside Morrisons in Basingstoke to promote Spotlight UK's Food Hub, which was providing 268 people every week, this has now risen to 292 people each week.

"We supply 7 days of food weekly to families, and vulnerable adults. Sadly numbers of people in need are increasing daily. We receive referrals from schools, social workers and other professionals. We are hearing of more and more of people who are having to choose between food and gas and electric. We hear of children and elderly having only one meal a day or parents going without food so that their children have food and its heartbreaking.
"The customers of Morrisons were brilliant and we received six trolleys of donationst, which helped us to support 292 people for a week."

Morrisons have a collection point for items in store which is shared between Spotlight UK and other food support charities in Basingstoke.
