A POPULAR coffee shop that was recently vandalised will have its smashed window replaced for free thanks to a kind donation.
Willows Coffee House will have a new window installed for free by Glaze-fix Windows and Doors.
The coffee house was vandalised on Saturday, August 20, when “drunken idiots” smashed a window, “exploding” shards of glass over the premises.
The incident came months after the coffee shop, alongside other local businesses, suffered similar damage, and left Willows owner Mary Stevens with a £200 repair bill.
In response to the damage, several residents set up fundraising pages to donate money to pay for the repairs.
Willows will put the donated funds towards repairing and repainting the rotten window frames at the front at the shop, which were also damaged when the window was smashed.
Any funds left over will be donated to charity.
In a post on Facebook, Willows said: “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and good will of our customers since our window breakage.
“Many have either anonymously or in person donated funds for the shop to get the window fixed.

“A massive thank you to everyone who has donated funds to us as it was totally unexpected but very welcome.
“It's been so wonderful to see this community spirit and restores faith in the kindness of Basingstokers!”
