A CHARITY has launched a unique competition to help children’s sports clubs support members who might be financially struggling.
Cash for Kids, the charity of radio network Wave 105, has kicked off its new campaign, the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge, to help sports groups across Hampshire support children in participating in their sport.
Supported by the experts at Cash for Kids, sports challenge participants will have four weeks to fundraise as much as they can.
When the competition ends, each sports club will keep all of the money that they have raised, with an additional £10,000 additional funding going to the club that has raised the most.

All funds raised can be used by the groups and clubs to enable them to welcome more children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to participate in their sport.
Funds could be used to subsidise membership fees, provide kit, upgrade facilities, or provide staff or volunteer training to support those with additional needs.
Rick Jackson from Wave 105 said: “As well as the physical and mental health benefits, sport is so important for children in helping them make new friends and boosting their confidence.
“We want all children to be able to take part in sports and I’m so proud that our charity has launched the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge to enable more children and young people in the south to get active.
“I can’t wait to see what all the local groups and clubs come up with to fundraise!”
Samantha Tanner from Cash for Kids added: “With the exciting summer of sport this year, we’re thrilled that we could be inspiring the next generation of Lionesses and Commonwealth Games and European Championship superstars through the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge.

“We’ll be there to support the groups & clubs raise as much as they can, so they won’t be going it alone.
“We’ve got £10,000 in funding prizes to win, so every local sports group & club should apply to take part!”
Groups and clubs have until midday on Monday, September 12 to submit their application, which can be completed online now at wave105.com/sports.
