A MAN who was walking down the central reservation of the M3 has caused huge delays.
The section of the M3, which stretched from junction 8 and junction 9 for Winchester, was closed in both directions on Wednesday, September 7.
The incident was first reported at 7.50am. National Highways reported that the incident involved a pedestrian.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: "We were called just before 7.10am this morning to the M3 due to a concern for welfare of a man walking down the central reservation."
"Officers attended and closed both carriageways and the man was located. The motorway has now been reopened.
There are current delays of 60 minutes on the M3 and A303. Drivers are being warned to avoid the area.
