A ‘SUSPICIOUS incident’ at a Basingstoke bar is being investigated by police, after a woman claimed her friend's drink was spiked.
Pension adviser Rachel Cullen told the Mail Online that she was on a night out with her colleague Sophie Luke on August 28 in The Angel - a J D Wetherspoons pub in Festival Place - when she believes her friend’s drink was spiked.

Twenty-four-year-old Rachel said Sophie, 21, was about to take a sip when she spotted the drink was ‘fizzing’ more than usual.
When the colleagues inspected the drink, Rachel said she spotted a small white pill at the bottom of Sophie’s glass, which was reported to staff.
She spoke to the Mail Online about the experience to warn others to be vigilant when out drinking in bars and said: “It’s frightening to think what could have happened.”
Hampshire Constabulary said: “We can confirm we received a report of a suspicious incident that took place at The Angel in Festival Place on the evening of Sunday 28 August. The incident was reported to us on the following day. Enquiries are ongoing.”

A statement from Wetherspoons confirmed that staff were made aware by a customer that there was a “foreign object” in a drink “which appeared to be some form of tablet”.
They replaced the drink immediately and offered covers to go over the top of the friends’ drinks.
The statement added: “We reviewed CCTV both of the drink at the bar and whilst on the customer’s table but could not see if it had been interfered with in any way.
“We are happy to cooperate with the police in any investigation.
“We have reiterated to our pub team the need for vigilance and posters will be displayed on the premises advising customers to be aware of any suspicious behaviour around their drinks.
“Drinks covers are available for customers on request.”
