Queen Elizabeth II has passed away aged 96 at Balmoral Castle, Buckingham Palace has announced.
The Queen, who reigned for 70 years, died "peacefully" this afternoon.
She was Britain's longest reigning monarch.
Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
