Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the British public has entered a period of mourning, and some may be wondering where they can lay flowers in tribute in Hampshire.
A tweet from the Royal Family at 6.30pm yesterday stated: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow."
Broadcaster Huw Edwards delivered the news of the Queen’s death live on BBC One.
Mourners pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II
Hundreds of bouquets, personal notes and candles are already being laid in memory of the country's longest-serving monarch around the nation today.
Several locations in Hampshire are allowing people to lay flowers in tribute to the Queen, and they can be found listed below.
Where to leave flowers for the Queen in Hampshire
Basingstoke
There has been a space marked for "Royal floral tributes" outside of the Basingstoke Council offices.
Outside of that, the council has not stated any other locations where people can lay flowers at the time of writing.
Winchester
On their website, the Winchester Council stated: "Those wishing to lay floral tributes are welcome to do so at the Cathedral, the Great Hall, and at Abbey Gardens."
The Mayor of Winchester also laid a wreath at Abbey House at midday and will open a book of condolence at the Guildhall.
Test Valley
Test Valley Borough Council have not declared any official spots for floral tributes at the time of writing.
However, people are laying flowers outside of Broadlands in Romsey, as reported by BBC News, which is where the Queen and Prince Philip spent their honeymoon.
