TAPAS evolution’s new restaurant and bar at Festival Place in Basingstoke will celebrate World Paella Day later this month.
Saffron-infused and rosemary-scented stock, caramelised chicken, beans, paprika, Valencian rice and a whole array of other Mediterranean ingredients gives the sunshine colour and intense smoky flavour that is a trademark of Spain’s most famous dish and the reason why we all love it, not just while we are away on holidays but all year around.
Tapas Revolution’s new restaurant and bar at Festival Place in Basingstoke have teamed up with the Spanish Tourist Office to celebrate World Paella Day this September 20 with a 50 per cent discount on all its paella dishes.

Hailing from Valencia, paella is traditionally cooked in iconic flat-bottomed steel pans over an open flame, which creates a layer of delicious, toasted rice at the bottom of the pan that is unique to the dish.
Omar Allibhoy Cuende, founder chef of Tapas Revolution, said: “At Tapas Revolution, we pride ourselves in how we cook our paellas, respecting tradition, using the best ingredients and an unparalleled 6kg of saffron filaments a year – that is how seriously we take our paella!
“A vast majority of our restaurant guests throughout the country have visited Valencia and have experienced how a properly made paella should taste and look – thin and even. That is why, over the years, they have become a top seller.
“So many say to us after enjoying them that they have been transported to sunny Spain; the best feedback we could wish for!”
To mark World Paella Day on September 20, Tapas Revolution is offering a 50 per cent discount on all paellas for that day only. Those who can’t join on the day but fancy having a go at making a paella at home can download the recipe from tapasrevolution.com or watch a step-by-step guide on YouTube.
