THERE has been a serious collision on a major road in Basingstoke on Wednesday morning, September 21.
The incident happened on Reading Road in Sherfield-on-Loddon just before 6.30am.
Firefighters confirmed that one casualty has been extricated from a vehicle and passed to the care of ambulance paramedics.
A33 between Sherfield on Loddon and Basingstoke was blocked for around 10 hours due to the incident.
The closure was between Gaiger Avenue and Wildmoor Lane.
The entrance to Sherfield School was also closed.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "We are currently attending a serious road collision on the A33 between Sherfield on Loddon and Basingstoke, that was called in at 6.25am today (21 September).
The road is closed and will be for the foreseeable while we carry out our enquiries - please find an alternative route."
A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Basingstoke crews were called to support ambulance and police following a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Reading Road in Sherfield-on-Loddon at 6:29 this morning.
"Firefighters extricated one casualty who was passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service paramedics.
"Crews made the vehicles safe before handing the scene over to Hampshire Constabulary officers who had enforced a road closure.
"HIWFRS returned to station following the stop message at 7:49."
