A BELOVED young boy who sadly died from mitochondrial is being remembered this week during World Mitochondrial Disease Week as fundraisers continue.
Thomas Stewart Keen died peacefully in his parents arms on July 1 at just 18-months-old after suffering from the life-limiting disease, needing him to be tube fed with an a specialist Keto diet and nine medications 17 times a day.
With the sad passing of Her Majesty the Queen, the previously planned event of turning Festival Place's tower green to highlight world Mitochondrial Week, had to sadly be cancelled.

Nevertheless, Thomas's family have been completing various events and tasks to help raise money for the charity which supported their family throughout Thomas's death, The Lily Foundation.
The family are also very thankful to the young boy's nursery, Kiddy Caru Beggarwood, who are helping the family raise money by fundraising all this week for the Lily Foundation in memory of Thomas by holding different events for all families to take part in.
Thomas's dad, Ryan, is also taking part in a 23-mile walk with his colleagues, which will take place on Wednesday, September 28 and has currently raised £733 of their £1,000 target.
Life-long family friend Jacqui Winks is also cycling 100 miles around Norfolk and has raised £563 of her £700 target.
