TWO entrepreneurs are joining hands to open an online business in Hook to sell afternoon tea and DIY cocktail boxes.
Friends Vicki Culver and Ellie Hill are opening the new business named Bake and Shake Hampshire at 2 Bridge Road in North Warnborough.
A premises licence application for the business has been submitted before the Hart District Council.
The business will be a delivery service, with Vicki and Ellie saying they will provide the perfect afternoon tea paired with the perfect cocktail at recipients' homes.
The DIY cocktail boxes can also be sent through the letter box for people to make themselves at home.
The duo are hoping to open the business on Saturday, October 1.
In a social media post, they said the business has been created from an idea they shared.
Vicki will focus on the afternoon tea side of business, while Ellie will take care of the cocktails.
“With a little thought, it seemed like an excellent venture that could hopefully be enjoyed by many," they said.
“Locally sourced with a snazzy little twist, we’re looking forward to launching our very own enterprise. We have a lot to do, and the planning is well underway.”
Vicki said she is a new mum and wife by day, and afternoon tea extraordinaire by night.
“Hospitality has always been a huge part of my life, from managing large public houses to farm shop cafes. I have seen it all.
“I’m also partial to singing a song or two.”
Vicki added that she was diagnosed with Coeliac disease when she was young and finding a decent afternoon tea has always been a bit of a struggle.
“So I thought I’d put everything I know about gluten free baking and share it with all of you,” she said.
“Everything we make will have a gluten-free alternative, so nobody has to miss out.”
Ellie, the other half of Bake and Shake, is currently studying second year of law with a passion for “all things spirits and mixology”.
“Having worked in hospitality since the minute I could have a job, I’ve picked up a thing or two, but it wasn’t until I joined the amazing team The Gin Inn where I could truly flourish, which is where I found my passion.
“We all love a cocktail, but knowing how to make them, well that’s my best party trick. I’ll be looking after all things cocktails, mixed right before your eyes or popped through the letter box. I’m so excited to be doing this and so excited to see where it could go.”
