A BRIGHTON Hill Community School student who achieved nine level 9 grades at GCSE examinations has been honoured.
Nishad KC, who has placed in the top 0.5 per cent of all GCSE students across the country, was in Nepal on the results day.
Headteacher Chris Edwards honoured Nishad with the first Yellow Army Golden Fleece award for his fantastic achievement.

Nishad is now joining the Queen Mary’s College, in Basingstoke, to continue his academic journey.
Mr Edwards said: “We are so proud of Nishad KC, who achieved nine level 9 grades at GCSE level this year.
“He was a wonderful student during his time with us at Brighton Hill, epitomising the commitment shown by our students, despite the turbulent challenges brought on by the pandemic.

“This achievement puts Nishad in the top 0.5 per cent of all GCSE students across the country and we know that Nishad will continue to achieve incredible success as he begins the next part of his educational journey at Queen Mary’s College.”
Yellow Army Golden Fleece is a new award introduced by the school for students who show exceptional "commitment".
Mr Edwards said: "Commitment is one of our four cornerstones. Nishad is the first student to win it and we hope he will inspire many more to follow in his footsteps."
