Basingstoke Ladies 1s and Men’s 1s suffered another set of defeats as they continued their poor start to the season.
Ladies 1s, sponsored by KJ Smith Solicitors, had their first of two trips to Exeter this season, to play Exe Ladies 1s where they suffered 1-3 defeat. Next week, Basingstoke Ladies are at home against Cheltenham Ladies 1s at 2pm.
Basingstoke Men’s 1s travelled to face Henley Men’s 1s this week and saw a narrow 2-3 defeat. They face local rivals Winchester at home at 11.45am next week.
Basingstoke Ladies 2s earnt another hard fought three points this week, beating Banbury 1-0 at home to put them top of the league after two games. Basingstoke Men’s 2s managed to earn a point at home against Salisbury with a second half equaliser from Phil Stewart.
Basingstoke Ladies 3s defeated Basingstoke Ladies 4s 2-1 in a league clash with two late goals.
Basingstoke Men’s 3s beat Haslemere Men’s 4s 4-3 with two goals from player of the match Will Delves.
Basingstoke Men’s 4s defeated newly promoted Basingstoke Men’s 5s 4-0 in the league this week.
Basingstoke Ladies 5s had another walk over this week as their opposition conceded the game.
Basingstoke Men’s 6s defeated Portsmouth 4-1 at home this week.
Basingstoke Ladies 6s took the three points this week as they also had a superb 4-1 victory against IBM Nomads Ladies.
At home next week (8th Oct), alongside both 1st teams, Basingstoke Men’s 3s face Havant Men’s 5s and Basingstoke Ladies 4s face Poole Ladies 1s.
In this weekend’s away games, Basingstoke Men’s 2s travel to play Winchester 2s and Basingstoke Ladies 2s travel to face Salisbury Ladies 1s.
