AN ELITE ninja from Basingstoke has been called up to take the Ninja Warrior title after being recognised for his skills.

Joe Scoundrett appeared on Ninja Warrior on Saturday, October 8 as he battled his way through the course for the number one spot.

Joe has been parkour training since around 11 years old and was put forward by fellow Elite Ninja, Shane Griffin after recognising his skills and ability to outshine his competitors.

Joe, 27, has been focused on his cardio and grip strength. He said: "Cardio is key. There’s no use in being strong enough if your lungs can’t keep up with your opponent.

“Obstacles like Wing Nuts, where you have to swing across and deal with a less than ideal grip.”

Joe battled it out against his competitors on the new course, which sees new courses, new obstacles and bigger challenges designed as the "ultimate" test of strength, speed and courage.

The episode will see hosts Ben Shephard, Rochelle Humes, and Chris Kamara return as a new group of Ninja heroes attempt to complete TV’s toughest obstacle course.

The contestants will not only face each other and a dastardly difficult new course, but they will also have to face the Elite Ninjas, a team of professional Ninja Warrior athletes determined to beat them in head-to-head races.
