A BASINGSTOKE team finished runners-up in a Korfball tournament held in Guildford.
In the Chris Carter Cup, featuring 12 teams from across the region, Basingstoke Bulls narrowly missed out on the cup following a final defeat against Didcot (6-5).
Jordan Langley was Basingstoke Bull’s player of the day who relentlessly battled to run and shoot which helped the tea progress through each stage.
The tournament saw teams from Southampton, Guildford, Didcot, Farnborough and Abingdon.
Korfball is a sport originating in Holland. It’s a true mixed-gender sport featuring four males and four females playing in tandem in both attack and defence.
It’s similar to netball but with posts inside the court so players can shoot from every angle.

The Carter Cup is an annual korfball tournament for teams across the region and acts as a great pre-season team-building event.
With several players making their team debuts after training through the summer, head coach, Steve Wadsworth, was absolutely delighted that the team progressed so deeply into the tournament.
A proud Basingstoke Bulls team, starting to grow again after having to stop during the season, started their league matches in Southampton last weekend.
The team said they are always happy to welcome new players and there are three free training sessions for anyone to come and get involved.
