A NEW cake shop is set to open in Basingstoke next month.
Caker Street will launch its fourth shop in Church Street, at the Top of Town, in the first week of November.
The business stated on its website that the new Basingstoke shop would be opening in mid-April, 2022.

It is not known why there has been a delay of more than six months.
The windows of the shop have been covered in newspaper.
A spokesperson for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council said at the beginning of September: “The cake shop on Church Street has been progressing with refurbishment works over the past weeks.”
However, more than a month later and it is still not open and the Gazette has been unable to contact the owners.

A member of staff from the company’s sales team said the Basingstoke shop is due to open in the first week of November.
Caker Street is described on its website as a “one stop cake shop for all your occasions”.
It launched in 2015 as an online cake shop before opening its first kiosk in Westfield Mall, London, in March this year.
It states that by the end of 2022 it will have 10 stores across the country, including the one in Basingstoke.
The business makes cakes for any occasion and also offers DIY cakes and cupcakes at its London outlet.
