PLANS have been submitted asking for permission to build a swimming pool in the garden of a house in Basingstoke.
Bernadette Robinson has asked the borough council for permission to replace and extend the garage roof at the property in Richmond Road, South View to form an enclosure for a new inground swimming pool.

She has also asked for permission to install an EV home charger and solar panels on the house and garage roof, as well as replace the front door.
Permission to replace the damaged front door is being asked retrospectively, after the work was carried out without consent in March 2017, to replace the door with one of an art deco theme.
Mrs Robinson has asked to install an in-ground exercise pool designed to sink into a garden, building, or patio.

Provided by Nautilus InGround, the 5.85m by 2.35m pool comes with a watertight sturdy fiberglass outer shell, electronics, and power supply.
It is installed into a concrete base and is said to be “quick and easy to install”.
Work to be carried out at the property, if plans are given the go-ahead, includes safely removing the garage roof, which contains asbestos, and installing the swimming pool behind the garage.
