A MUCH-LOVED doctor has stepped down from a Basingstoke surgery due to personal reasons.
Dr Felicity Groom will not be working at Crown Heights Medical Centre for the “foreseeable future”, it has been revealed.
The medical centre said in a statement that it was with great sadness that it is writing to let patients know that Dr Groom is stepping down due to unforeseen circumstances.
“Dr Groom is a valued and respected colleague. We know that patients and colleagues have valued Dr Groom's dedication and commitment over the years that she’s worked at Crown Heights.

“We will all miss her over the coming weeks and wish her well. We want to assure you that during her absence Dr Groom's patients will be looked after by the other doctors and staff and we have already started the process of sharing things like letters and results which Dr Groom was working on.
“Thank you for bearing with us over the next few weeks as we work to source an additional workforce to support the surgery during Dr Groom’s absence.”
Dr Groom’s personal circumstances have not been disclosed out of respect.
