IT IS not a sight you would expect to see in Basingstoke, but tropical fruits are being grown in a shared office in the town.
From dragon fruits to lemons, have become a regular sight in Matrix House, in Basing View.
Known for its large indoor atrium greenhouse, the office features trees that have been growing since the late 1980s but now is home to various exotic fruits.
Located on the fifth floor of the building are different fruit trees that have been growing for the last 10 to 13 years within the building and are used within the Atrium cafe and eaten by tenants.

Phil Talhadas, the building manager at Matrix House, said people love sitting near the fruit trees.
Phil hopes that having indoor plants and trees in the building would help improve people's wellbeing.
Inside the building are fresh papayas, lemons, bananas, dragon fruit, limes and many other fruits.
Growing the trees is possible through the south-facing atrium greenhouse that provides the fruit with warm temperatures and sunlight in both the morning and afternoon.
Jim Brownlie, who runs the Atrium cafe and looks after the fruit trees, said: "I love looking after the plants and people in the building love the plants, it really has become more of a hobby than a job."
