THE Old Basing Royal British Legion Corps of Drums met on Saturday for their recruitment event, which was a huge success.
Members of the band came together on October 22 at The Malls shopping centre to encourage people to get involved and have a go at playing an instrument.
Paul Graham, assistant drum major and the band's recruitment coordinator, said that the band was surprised with how many people stopped by to watch and took interest in what they were doing.

He added: "The recruitment event went really well - we played some tunes and then interacted with the public."
For the event, the band was in full ceremonial uniforms, similar to what the Royal Marines would wear.
As the Old Basing band prepare for future carnivals and fetes they intend to perform at, they are encouraging people to get involved.
If you are interested in joining the band they provide tuition, uniform and loan of instruments.
