A PARENT-TEACHER association of a school in Hook raised a staggering £36,000 from its fundraising events during the last academic year.

The Hook Schools Community Association (HSCA) raised the money for Hook Infant and Hook Junior Schools.

The HSCA, which is the local Parent, Teacher and Friend Association, is well known for hosting professional, large-scale events.

The association said £2,750 will give given to the teachers, offices, site managers, library and SenCo teams, in addition to the £32,000 given directly to the schools.

The money is expected to provide children and staff with a wonderful opportunity to discuss what they would really like for their classrooms.

The cheque was presented to the headteachers of the schools at the HSCA annual general meeting on Monday, October 17.

HSCA chair Sarah Brown said: “We are absolutely thrilled that all our hard work paid off and we are able to present such a large cheque to the Hook schools, which we know will benefit all the Hook pupils.

“We cannot do this without the support of the community coming to our events and the team of dedicated volunteers who work so hard, so thank you.

“We have worked hard to bounce back after Covid and now hope to continue to provide events for the children, as well as wider community events that people enjoy and want to come to.”
