A SPORTS club from Basingstoke has helped a charity to receive a donation following their victory in a walking football tournament.
Tadley Statin Strollers based in Basingstoke was pitted against four other Clubs as part of two competitions, the over 60s and over 70s, with Tadley becoming victorious within the over 60s category.
The tournament was sponsored by developers McCarthy Stone.
After winning the competition, Tadley Statin Strollers nominated the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as its charity partner to receive £100 donation from McCarthy Stone.

Mike Holton from Tadley Statin Strollers Football Club said: “The work the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance provides in the local communities is absolutely vital, so we’re delighted we are able to help support its cause. We’d like to say a huge thank you to McCarthy Stone for funding the donation on our behalf.”

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance provide an advanced Critical Care Team to the most severely sick and injured people within Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, and surrounding areas when they need it most.
Available both day and night, 365 days a year, the team of doctors, paramedics and pilots are called out an average of four times a day to attend road traffic collisions, sporting accidents, collapses, and many other incidents. It currently costs £15,000 a day to keep the charity flying and saving lives.
