THREE members of a gang that made more than £600,000 by blowing up ATMs and stealing money across Hampshire has been ordered to pay less than £3,000 back.
The gang - which totalled five members - used crowbars, gas and petrol to blow up ATMs and steal thousands of pounds in cash.
Cameron Chivers, 24, of Lydgate Road, Southampton; Adam Jones, 32, from Fareham; Colin Golding, 27, from Farnborough; Jesse Matthews, 21, from Bordon and David “Paddy” Hughes, 32, of Street End Close, Rotherwick were jailed at Winchester Crown Court earlier this year.
But this week, during a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing at the same court, some of the men were ordered to pay back just £2,882.41.

The court heard how Matthews had made £37,806.46 in total from his criminality, but due to his inability to pay any money, he was asked to pay back just £1.
However, if the money isn't paid within seven days, he will face seven days extra in jail.
Meanwhile, Jones bagged £349,924.35 from the robberies, but it was found he is only able to pay back £41.41 which he must do in two months, or be jailed for seven extra days.
The court was told how Hughes, who had been the gang ringleader, had raked in £298,843.16 and must therefore pay back £2,840 in 28 days or go to jail for an extra month.
Golding and Chivers are due to appear at a hearing on November 18 where it will be discussed how much they made from the gang.
It comes after the five were jailed in February with Hughes getting 17 months, Jones 13 and a half, Golding nine, Chivers eight years and four months, and Matthews six years and eight months.
Sentencing the men, Her Honour Judge Angela Morris described the attacks as “well organised and orchestrated” and “motivated by unadulterated greed with no thought for other innocent parties”.
The ATM raids took place over nine months in 2019 and 2020 and included burglaries and car thefts as well across three counties including Hampshire.
Businesses hit by the gang included Stop ‘n’ Shop in Sholing, Co-op, Spring Road, Sholing, Santander, Burgess Road, the Post Office in West End, the Co-op Store in Stubbington and Tesco Express, Bishopstoke.
It was said that their criminal heists cost businesses around £1.2million in losses and damages.
