The winter season of Basingstoke and District Tennis League kicked off in October.
In the first division of the men’s competition, Kintbury, Andover A and Old Basing A all started off with wins. The same goes for Odiham A, Andover C, Oakley A and Preston Candover A, with all four teams being neck-and-neck in the early goings of division 2. Division 3 saw more matches played than the other men’s divisions, with Oakley B currently leading the way, but closely followed by Stratton Park B, Beechdown B and Waverley B. With only three teams in division 4 having played any matches, Hartley Wintney are the early table-toppers, with Hook the only other team to pick up a point.
In the top division of the ladies doubles competition, Riseley A are the only team with a 100-per-cent record. They are currently level on points with Andover and Goodworth Clatford, but both these teams have played an extra match.
Division 2 sees Riseley B and Beechdown B currently with two wins out of two. In the third division, Sherborne St. John are the early leaders, but with some teams yet to play there’s plenty to play for.
Riseley A, Stratton Park A and Old Basing are all perched atop division 1 of Mixed competitions, having won their opening matches. In division 2, which has seen a number of matches played, Hampshire Court have 2 wins out of 2, and currently lead the pack. With only two matches played in division 3, Totally Tennis B and Andover picked up early season wins.
