A DRUNK driver has been banned from getting behind the wheel after driving in Basingstoke while over the legal limit.
Lauren Miljus, from Winchester, drove a BMW 1 Series on Hackwood Road on Sunday, June 12, with 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit is 35.
Miljus also failed to stop when asked to do so by the police. During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court, she pleaded guilty to the offences.
Magistrates ordered the 29-year-old to pay a fine of £120 and banned her from getting behind the wheel for 18 months.
A WOMAN from Basingstoke has been fined after stealing clothes worth more than £100 from Next.
Julie Mills, of Ilsley Road, on Thursday, August 30, stole clothing items to the value of £138 belonging to Next in Basingstoke.
The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court and was ordered to pay a fine of £80.
Magistrates also ordered her to pay court costs of £40 and a surcharge fee of £32.
MAGISTRATES have banned a Basingstoke drunk driver from getting behind the wheel.
Saikumar Martha, of Blackwater Close, drove a motor vehicle on Eastrop Lane on Saturday, September 24, with 55 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35.
Martha also had no insurance or driving licence. During a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court, Martha pleaded guilty to all offences.
Magistrates banned the 29-year-old from driving for 15 months and ordered them to pay a fine of £323.
Magistrates also ordered them to pay court costs of 85 and a surcharge fee of 129.
A BASINGSTOKE resident has been ordered to do unpaid work after driving while nearly three times over the alcohol limit.
Santos Gurung, of Coleman Close, drove on Cliddesden Road on October 16, with 104 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Gurung pleaded guilty to the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court and were banned from driving for 50 months.
Magistrates also ordered the 51-year-old to complete 160 hours of unpaid work as well as pay court costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £114.
A WOMAN from Basingstoke has been fined hundreds after being more than double the drink drive limit.
Maria Gonzalez Rodriguez, of Shakespeare Road, was stopped on Festival Way in Basingstoke on Sunday, October 16, while driving with 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit is 35.
The 32-year-old was banned from getting behind the wheel for 20 months after pleading guilty to the offence during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrates also ordered her to pay a fine of £415 as well court costs of £85 and a surcharge of £166.
A WOMAN has been handed a suspended prison sentence after being in possession of a knife while in Basingstoke.
Sarah Godfrey, from Bristol, was carrying a knife in Basingstoke on March 18 in a public place. On July 12, the 42-year-old also assaulted a man by beating him.
Godfrey pleaded guilty to both offences during a hearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court.
During the hearing, she was handed a four-month custodial sentence suspended for 18 months. Magistrates also ordered her to take part in rehabilitation activities.
She was also ordered to pay costs of £40 and a surcharge of £128.
