Dear Editor,
We were interested to read the article in the Gazette on 10th November on Cllr Onnalee Cubitt.
On the occasions that we have met her at St Mary`s Church Fete, Old Basing, we found her a very caring and sensible person. She is interested in the town and certainly our village.

If she said in her interview with The Guardian that the town was a litany of failures, then we agree, and could probably add to her list!
We are surprised that she is not in the cabinet, helping to run this town, and in our opinion, she would make an excellent leader of the council. The town would benefit from a strong character as leader.
