A HISTORIC pub near Basingstoke is organising a charity darts match to raise money for Dementia UK.
The Swan, nestled in the village of Sherborne St John, will host the event on Saturday, November 26, from 7pm.
Landlord Dean Oxborough, who took over the pub this year, said the event is being organised by one of his staff, Chris Hagger.
“This is the first time we are doing something like this. Someone in Chris’ family had dementia and we believe Dementia UK is a great charity to raise money for,” Dean said.

“We are expecting around 40 people at the moment. There will also be a raffle at the event.”
He said there will be a £10 per entry for the darts match, and all proceeds will go to the charity.
There will be food supplied for anyone taking part in the darts match. People are also encouraged to donate any item to the raffle.
