BASINGSTOKE Canal Society is auctioning original paintings of an artist who toured the country in her boats to raise funds to replace a trip boat.
The paintings are by Nancy Larcombe, an artist and author who travelled around the country in her boats, painting, and writing for various magazines.
She was a member of the Guild of Waterway Artists and lived in a 40ft narrow boat that she named Nancy Bell moored near the Basingstoke Canal Centre.
She began to paint at an early age before spending a year of more formal training at Manchester Art School.

Nancy died in the autumn of 2010 and donated all of her unsold artwork to the Basingstoke Canal Authority.
She also had a butty (an unpowered freight barge) called Towed Haul which looked like a mock-Tudor cottage and was used as her studio.
Towed Haul was open to the public every Sunday.
The Basingstoke Canal Society said it will be once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for people to buy something totally unique and help raise funds to replace Kitty, a trip boat based in Woking.
The auction is open now and closes on Friday, December 16 at 9pm.
You can see the paintings and bid for them at app.galabid.com/larcombe/items.
