Dear Editor,

So, Hampshire Constabulary, Basingstoke District Command are winners of 2022 Cultural Diversity Award, for building trust amongst ethnic minorities. This assumes the rest of us already trust the police, which I don't think we do. As in most instances, we have been abandoned by the police. They are tucked away on an industrial estate, with no bus route. Report a crime, and all you get a crime number so you can claim on insurance. You rarely see a police officer, except in a car, they always seem too busy to investigate crime. What are they doing?

We also have the council, 'bandwagon jumping'. They have apparently received White Ribbon Accreditation to end male violence against women and girls. This a criminal activity, so what has this got to do with the council, it's a police matter. Why don't the public services just do what we pay them for, instead of 'virtue signalling'.
