Tadley Calleva A knocked CK Andover out of the Peter Raynbird Cup in Andover on Saturday, writes Tony Spencer, extending their current good form run to nine games unbeaten after a sweet 2-4 victory. Callum Parkin and Nicholas Ward scored CK Andover’s consolation goals.
Overton United Reserves managed to complete the Division 1 league double over their visitors AFC Aldermaston A but the 3-0 scoreline wasn’t the whole story. Aldermaston actually battered Overton throughout even though the hosts were 2-0 up after only 10 minutes and led 3-0 at the break.
Aldermaston probably had 65 per cent ball possession in the match. It was a well-spirited game though and fought fairly between the sides. Andrew Bulloch scored a brace, Louis McCann a single and Overton held out through the last 45 to keep a clean sheet for only the second time, and extend their winning run to four games.
In Division 2 Basing United chalked up their sixth win on the trot and inflicted a first league defeat on visitors Odiham United, with a 3-1 result, after being level one-all at the break. Harry Phillipson scored two and sub Nathan Boyle one for Basing and Dominic Turner replied for Odiham.
Chineham conceded their match to Oakridge which counts as their first and strangest league win of the season.
