Nine goals were scored in the Ambient v Basingstoke Boars match. It was an end-to-end tightly contested match, won the end 5-4 by Ambient. Boars took the lead through a drilled tight angled finish from Lee Cobern 10 mins in. Both teams looked evenly matched, Ambient edging the possession while Boars threatened on the break. With 20 minutes gone Ed Tong bundled home a header from a corner to make it 0-2. Ambient started to apply pressure and smashed home an impressive volley, so 1-2 at half-time. Continuing in the same vein, Raz Roman capitalised on a goalkeeping error and executed a composed lob from 35 yards on 64 mins, 1-3. Ambient created chances and powered a free kick into the corner to close the gap to 2-3. On the counter, Roman and Cobern responded, sending the ball to Alex Hare, whose pace saw him beat the keeper to the ball and tap home, 2-4 on 72 mins. Ambient weren’t finished though, they pushed back relentlessly and, striking three comeback goals in the last 15 minutes, saw them snatch victory from the jaws of defeat as 5-4 winners. Tyler Andrews, Matthew Kempson, Alex McKenna, Mark West and Joe Marsh netted for triumphant Ambient.
