BASINGSTOKE college students have been busy getting festive with a very special sleigh project.
Six students from Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) enrolled in automotive, construction and art courses have worked together to design, build and decorate a new charity sleigh, ready for the Round Table tour of Basingstoke this December. Santa and his elves will be touring different areas in the town, from Kempshott to Old Basing, raising money for charities.
Students started the project from scratch and it involved a great deal of planning and teamwork, working to a specific brief. The sleigh was officially handed over by the students to the Basingstoke Round Table on Wednesday, December 7, ready for the start of the tour.

BCoT's Dave Trevelion said: “Community projects like this are invaluable to our students. The experience they’ve had will benefit them in so many ways. The project is for a good cause and they’ve utilised their skills to deliver a truly festive, high-quality sleigh. The Basingstoke Round Table supports many local charities, providing support in the local community. We are proud to be a part of this year's campaign and proud of our students’ work.”
