A COUPLE experienced their own Christmas miracle when they gave birth to baby boy at Basingstoke Hospital on Christmas Day.
Pharmacy technician Sarah Digweed gave birth to her first child, a healthy baby boy named Marlow Henry, on December 25.
Sarah said that she and her husband Tom were overjoyed at Marlow’s birth, saying: “We got married last December, so obviously December is turning out to be a popular month for us!

“He was due on Boxing Day. We were going to be induced on Christmas Eve, but he came earlier, later hours of the 23rd when he started, and it was quite a long labour which obviously pushed it over to Christmas Day.”
One of the earliest births at the hospital, Marlow was born at 2.26am.
Sarah continued: “I’ve always loved Christmas, ever since I was small. So it’s a lovely Christmas present!
“And December is meaningful for us with the wedding anniversary as well, so it was lovely and the hospital made it a lovely experience.

“And it’s really nice just having him back with the Christmas tree around and things like that.
“It’s just really sweet.”
The couple was already prepared for Marlow’s birth, with a tiny stocking of Christmas presents waiting for him at home.
Sarah said that her and Tom’s families were excited that Marlow had been welcomed into the world.

She said: “They were all very excited anyway.
“This is a tenth grandchild for my family because I’m one of eight, but it’s the first grandchild for Tom’s family so both are excited in different ways.
“But yeah, they were both up for two consecutive nights waiting for Christmas Day news, so they were really excited, and they’ve obviously been buying lots of Christmas presents and stockings and outfits, and they’ve really brought into the whole Christmas side of it as well!
“So it’s actually quite fitting that he came on Christmas day at that point.”
