A WOMAN who went to the hospital for a pregnancy check-up instead had her “miracle” baby two months early on Christmas day.
Sarin Davis, from Andover, went to Basingstoke hospital on Christmas Eve for an ordinary checkup for her unborn baby who was due in February.
But to everyone’s surprise, Mrs Davis’ waters broke and she gave birth to her son at 12.13am on Christmas day morning.
Sarin, 30, said: “It was a bit of a whirlwind. I didn’t have time to think or prepare. We had no idea as there had been no complications throughout the whole pregnancy.”
Born on December 25, Parker Alexander Davis weighs just 4lbs 7oz and will need to stay in the intensive care unit for two to three weeks at the hospital despite the smooth birth. Currently, Parker is being kept under a UV light.

The new mother added: “I’m still lost for words. I’m totally mind-blown but we’re just so grateful. It’s the best Christmas present anyone could ask for even if we weren’t prepared for it. We felt a bit lost coming home without him but it will be the best thing ever when we can bring him home.”
Sarin has been with her partner Louis Davis, 33, for 10 years. Parker’s father was also born at Basingstoke Hospital and taken to the same intensive care unit.

Looking forward, the parents have discussed how they’re going to celebrate their son’s birthday and Christmas in one day.
Mrs Davis said: “Sharing Christmas and a birthday might be a bit rubbish. Maybe we do half and half with the morning as his birthday and the afternoon as Christmas or he can have two birthdays like the Queen. We’ll see what he likes.”
Following the early Christmas present, the couple had to buy new nappies and clothes in a smaller size. The pair were hoping to get their bag and cot and room for the baby ready over Christmas with seven weeks left until the due date.
Fortunately, Sarin’s mum travelled from Newcastle to help the new parents get ready for Parker’s arrival.
